Bart, a native of Oregon is a self-taught and naturally gifted artist who first discovered his talent while attempting to
amuse his son by drawing cartoon characters. World-renowned wildlife artist Dave Bartholet has been Bart’s inspiration
and mentor. “Dave has been my friend, coach and teacher. Not only a world class
artist, he understands the business and is a great business man.” Bart credits a great
deal of his success to his fine detailed graphite work, giving it a three dimensional appearance and bringing it to life.
Bart uses a wide variety of mediums when creating his paintings including watercolor, pen and Ink, pastels, colored
pencil and graphite. Bart photographs his own subject matter and has a passion for wildlife,
birds and nautical themes. He looks for characteristics that he can express in his paintings and drawings
that will allow his viewers to enter the story. Several pieces of Bart's work is featured in a book
titled "Artists Of The West" which was released in May of 2008 and on exhibit at the Smithsonian Institute.
A limited number of books are available and can be purchased by contacting Bart or check with your local area gallery.
